The World According to Giuliana

Since Giuliana is getting to be such a big girl, she would like to share with you a few of her favorite things and current feelings. Getting to see the discoveries she makes every day through her eyes is truly amazing!! If we only really knew what she was really thinking and feeling...but for now, these would be my best guesses :)

1. I am on the move people! I am officially walking and all of you better watch out because I do not like to sit still! Plus, I get a kick out of watching you chase me around, especially when you turn around for one second. You should see the look on your faces when you realize I'm not where you last saw me.

2. Stare downs are my thang. If I have never met you, or haven't seen you in a while, you will get a taste of my mean mug. Don't worry, I'll warm up, but beware.

3. Puffs, Puffs, Puffs, I love Puffs. So crunchy and bite size, they are perfect for shoving handfuls in my mouth when you're not looking.

4. The pool was made for me. I love to get pushed around in my floaty and then I like to stand on the steps and splash at my leisure. The beach is also super fun! The waves are so loud and I love the water rushing up to my toes!

5. Did you say steak cake? I loooooove sweets! Cake, ice cream, donuts, you name it--I want it. Now. Good thing my Papa knows how to give them to me on the sly.

6. I love my books! I like to turn the pages over and over so you can't read the words fast enough. Gets you every time!

7. I also love cats and dogs, but they don't love me. Yet. I get sooooo excited when I see them but then they make me chase them all over!

8. My favorite TV show is Wheel of Fortune. Every time that wheel goes, I just can't take my eyes off of it! I'm also obsessed with Baby Einstein Numbers Nursery. The sounds and colors help me sit still for a whole 5 minutes.

9. Your phones, remotes, iPads and anything else you try to keep from me make me want them even more. Ever heard of what's yours is yours, what's mine is mine? Well, I like to operate under the what's yours is mine mantra.

10. I have a bigger wardrobe than you. Guaranteed! Thanks to all of you, I have enough outfits to allow for 5 wardrobe changes a day! Lucky for me, mom and dad get to do allll my laundry...allll the time!

Well, that's a little but about whats going on with me at this point in my wonderful life. Thank you for loving me and for all the amazing gifts! Here are a few pictures of my birthday party and my new Chargers jersey just in time for football season!

Twelve Months of Giuliana

In honor of Giuliana's first birthday--and since I cannot stop staring at pictures of her early days--I wanted to share some of her past photos, a little flashback if you will. Still cannot believe it is this girls FIRST birthday!!

One Year Old!

Our Giuliana is ONE YEAR OLD! How did this happen? I will never forget the feeling I had going to the hospital knowing we were about to have a baby and the insane amount of love I felt when I saw those bright eyes staring back up at me immediately. So overwhelmed with love and happiness I couldn't even take it! Thinking about it now brings back the same emotions and I just cannot believe that we are parents to such an amazing girl. We are in such shock and denial that a whole year has gone by and our little baby is turning into a little girl. As sad as that makes me, I am also so excited for each and every day. At this stage, her development is so rapid so it feels like she is learning and doing new things all the time. It is hard to believe how much we have gone through with her in such a short period of time. From the sleepless nights to the now chasing her around the house, every day with this girl has been one of the best. It keeps getting better and better and we couldn't be more thankful for our healthy, happy and beautiful girl. With that, here are a few of her newest accomplishments. Happy birthday Giuliana!! We love you so very much!

Month 12 Accomplishments....According to Mom & Dad

*Giuliana is officially walking! This past week she went from taking a few steps and falling, to walking the whole stretch of the living room. She pulls herself up on something and away she goes!

*She absolutely loves her security blankets. She can't sleep without them and has to rub them on her face. She will grab them and say "night, night." So cute.

*Lil G loves to be tickled and cannot contain herself when we tell her the tickle monster is coming! The belly laughs are to die for!

*Sitting in the bathtub is so overrated. She would rather stand up and try to grab everything possible while we try and scrub-a-dub. She is too busy trying to discover how to get out and grab all the shampoos and soaps we have around.

*She has recently learned how to open all the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. You should see the proud look on her face when we tell her "no." More baby proofing is on the top of our priority list!

We had a birthday party for her yesterday and it was so much fun! Thank you to all of you who helped put it together and all of you who were able to make it and celebrate with us!

Picture Updates

Someone has a very big birthday coming up and we can't believe it but we are so excited to celebrate! In less than 2 weeks Giuliana will be O-N-E! Until then, I thought I'd leave you with a few picture updates of little miss G!

Baby girl got her ears pierced (finally) a couple of weeks ago. She cried for a second, until she saw there was ice cream waiting for her :)

My sister throws a Shark Week party every year, so what else would we do to get her in the spirit besides add a shark fin to her headband?

She is so close to walking! She really isn't a fan of the grass, so it has been really helpful in letting her stand on her own because she doesn't want to crawl. Once she figures out how to pick her feet up off the ground and go forward, we're in trouble.
Giuliana sat in a booster seat at breakfast and looked like such a big girl! She also tried to climb out and talk to the people sitting in the booth behind us.

This is a typical night in our house. Every toy scattered around the living room and she's sitting in a basket that is wayyyy to small for her.

That flowers' got nothing on her headband.

Sooo close!!
And this is a new one. Practicing her yoga?

Eleven Months Old!

Yep, it is that time again already. Eleven months??? Every time I turn around another month is gone. I'm already seeing Halloween and Fall décor making its way into the stores. The holidays will be here before we know it! Well, Giuliana has been impressing us more and more each day. She is really starting to pick up on everything and trying to repeat what we say. I think she also has a sixth sense. She knows when I'm in the kitchen getting her bottle ready or when I open to container of Puffs! Before I can even hide the evidence she's sitting at my feet giving me the stare down. She recently starting putting a couple of words together too and Karl and I can't even take it! We can't believe that her first birthday is right around the corner and it seems like every day that passes she develops more of her own personality. Amazing! She's gotten her first pedicure, loves being tickled, is obsess with books, uses us as a jungle gym when we play with her on the floor! This kid is one of a kind  :)

Month 11 Accomplishments....According to Mom & Dad

*As I mentioned, she is starting to say more words and repeat what we say to her and most recently she has started saying: "what is that?" "Who's that?" "Thank you" "Kitty cat" "Hot"

*She is starting to be able to understand what we are saying. For example, she received a baby doll as a gift and when we ask her, "Where is the baby?" she looks right at it and when tell her to "Go get the baby" she goes and gets her, and the best part...when we say "Give the baby love" she holds the baby and snuggles her! Adorable.

*This girl is basically running around the house with her walker. It is the cutest thing to watch her walk straight into walls and then turn around and look at you, waiting for you to turn her around so she can keep on going. It won't be long and we will really be in trouble.

*She's recently started trying to come down the stairs, which is extremely scary and intriguing all at the same time. You can tell she's really trying to figure out what she needs to do to get down. I would give anything to know what goes through her mind!

*Giuliana absolutely loves animals! (However, not all of them feel the same about her) She gets so excited when she sees dogs and cats. Her excitement, of course, is what scares them away but it still so fun to see her try to catch up with them as they run away from her. When we took her to the Birch Aquarium she stood at the glass and screamed the whole time.

Life with this little lady gets better every day. Her smile and laugh are infectious and we can't get enough. Happy 11 months Giuliana!
