This week was my Friday off (I work longer days in order to have every other Friday off) so I got to spend 3 whole days with my baby girl! Love my three day weekends. Check out our Friday morning smiles, I live for this face! She's also recently discovered her hands and is fascinated by them. She loves to put one in front of her face and stare at it.
Once the Khoury's were all dressed and ready, we ran around town knocking out some errands. We stopped in Chipotle (YUM) to get a quick lunch when every mother's worst nightmare happened. I knew she had a dirty diaper because she gave us the tell tale face a few minutes before, but I have to say I was not prepared for what was hiding inside...
I went to the bathroom in Chipotle to quickly find out they don't have changing tables. Seriously? So I thought, "well good thing I have my handy dandy Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag that has a built in changing pad." This made the situation slightly better but I was still pissed I was going to have to change her on the floor of the bathroom. GROSS. I laid her down and got my supplies ready for a diaper change but oh boy was I in for it. As soon as I pulled down her pants I could see you know what seeping through her onesie. Oh s*** is what immediately went through my mind. I realized that it was everywhere and this wasn't going to be a quick or easy task. I literally sat there, for what I'm sure was an eternity for lil G, for a solid 90 seconds just staring at the mess I had encountered and figuring out what was going to be my next move. Note to self: might be a good idea to carry a pair of scissors in the diaper bag because if I had some you bet I would have been cutting off that onesie in a hot second. My worst fear was trying to take it off over her head and risk getting any of the you know what on her. Luckily I was able to do this by some miracle and I threw that thing straight in the trash along with nearly every. single. wipe. I had. By this point the poor girl is screaming her head off because she's now naked-- on a changing pad-- on the floor of a Chipotle bathroom. Can't blame her. After we were through the worst, I quickly put an outfit on her and got the hell out of dodge, and just my luck she had stopped crying by then. But the damage was done, Karl said he could hear her crying from outside the bathroom. Oy! Needless to say, we skipped the other places on our to do list and went home after shoveling our burrito bowls in our mouths.
Since daddy Karl works late, G and I get to spend alot of time together in the evenings and mornings. Sometimes we like to hang out in our pajamas all day and sometimes we venture out to conquer the world our latest shopping addiction. She's alot more mobile now, so we don't pass up a chance to get out of the house and do fun stuff together if we're feeling up for it. My Boo Boo Cake (her latest nickname) is a great sidekick to have! So I now present to you...
Adventures of Mama & Mini!
Saturday was a much better day when it came to our adventures. In the morning, G and I walked to Starbucks to get an iced coffee and some exercise. She slept the whole time. When Karl went to work that night, us girls relaxed on the couch and caught up on all of our super educational trashy shows. She was so wiped out from the drama she had to take a little nap.
On Sunday we did our morning walk to Starbucks and she drifted off into coffee land once again. Nothing like a morning walk in San Diego when its 75 degrees outside in the middle of November.
Since our signal went out on our cable box (and I don't have the slightest clue how to fix that), I decided to play some music and have a dance party while I cleaned up the kitchen and tried to throw together a shnack with what little we had in our refrigerator. Giuliana watched me
dance like a pro make a fool of myself and was so entertained she decided to pretend like she fell asleep so I would stop. Clever as ever.
The rest of our day was spent doing a few things around the house and watching football once our signal was back on. (Thank's daddy Karl!) Another fabulous weekend with our Boo Boo Cake. Hope you all had a great weekend as well!
