January Happenings

January is in full effect and we are getting back to reality after all of the holiday fun. Nothing has slowed us down, except for a few rainy days that we have thoroughly enjoyed! It seems like the past couple of months have given us more rainy days and weekends than I can remember. It is so nice to sit in the living room and watch the rain outside and be all bundled up. Those days call for hot chocolate with extra marshmallows and the chocolate mustache to go along with it. This month is filled with birthday celebrations, dinners, Emery's baptism, your first hockey game (!!) and I'm sure a whole bunch more in between.

We are thinking of making some changes to your schooling, which has been a bit stressful, sad, and exciting. The current school is not sure where they will be next year and that has not been sitting well with us. We do not want to be out of a place for you, among other things. We are looking for a new place that has more availability so that the days are consistent and the program fits better for all of us. All that matters to me is that you are happy, learning, and feel proud of yourself in school. I want you to succeed and I want you to be in the best environment you can be.

With the new start to the year, I am also looking forward to getting the house ready and doing some touch up things that have been on my to do list for far too long. I would love to add a couple of floating shelves to the kitchen above the sink, paint our bedrooms and update some furniture. I would really love to upgrade just about everything but maybe when we move into our next home. I can't believe we will be decorating another nursery and a big girl room. Where has the time gone?? I have so many ideas in my head I just need someone to make them a reality.

I think that's all for now, babe!

Happy New Year

Welcome 2017! Here it is, another new year. I have a feeling this one will be extra special....that's right--it's Baby Khoury round 2! This sweet little babe will join us in July and we could not be more excited! So far it has been another easy pregnancy, despite the few weeks of constantly feeling tired and drained. We are into the 12th week and feeling much better. We found out mid-November and finally shared the news with most of our family and friends on Christmas Eve. It has gone by so fast and I feel like we have so much left to do, even though it is still pretty early. You know me, planning mode all the time. The end of 2016 was an exciting one for us and we even made it to midnight this year so I'd say we are off to a great start of 2017. There are lots of babies coming this year and I think it is going to be so much fun for all of them to grow up together. That is one thing that makes me kind of sad when I think that Giuliana has basically been by herself for her whole life. I mean, she has always been able to entertain herself and has more personality than we know what to do with, but I do wish it hadn't taken us this long to have another baby and that she had grown up with some other kids. I am glad, however, that she is a little bit older and will be a huge help. By the time he or she gets here I think naps for her will be nonexistent so that might be tough. When she remembers, she loves to pick up my shirt and kiss my belly and say, "I love you baby." Heart explosion! Let's hope she is still that loving and kind when the kid actually gets here!

Over the next few months we will be planning and attending baby showers and scrambling to get our house baby ready again. Pulling out all the baby stuff is going to give me all the feels, I just know it!

Cheers to 2017!
